About Systech
The mission of Systech Environmental Corporation is to serve customers by providing waste collection, processing, and secure destruction services to create fuels and materials.
Systech Environmental Corporation is a leading provider of by-product co-processing services in North America, with co-processing locations throughout the United States
As an affiliate of LafargeHolcim, the leading cement and construction materials manufacturer in the world, Systech provides customers with innovative services to manage by-products, primarily by recovering energy or mineral content during the cement manufacturing process.
Co-processing allows industries to beneficially reuse their by-products rather than wasting them through nonproductive disposal methods. In doing so, Systech applies sustainable practices, reducing the use of valuable fossil fuels and raw materials – and diverting waste from landfills.
Advantages to employing Systech for waste disposal include:
-
A large network of waste disposal facilities across North America
-
Years of experience – as an early pioneer in the waste disposal industry, Systech continues to adapt, innovate and evolve to meet customer needs
-
Evolving technology, which captures the energy resources or mineral value of waste to manufacture another product, such as cement
-
Knowledge of and compliance with state and federal rules and regulations about waste disposal and the ever-changing legislation that impacts our industry
-
Landfill diversion through sustainable, environmentally friendly practices
-
Long-term, ongoing partnerships with cement kilns, which allow Systech to directly communicate along the entire disposal chain to provide customers with individualized solutions
Our History
Systech Environmental Corporation was founded more than 40 years ago by four engineers as an environmental engineering consulting firm.
Systech launched its first co-processing operation in Paulding, Ohio, with the site’s cement kilns using liquid industrial by-products as supplemental fuel.
As by-product disposal became increasingly regulated, several more kiln facilities adopted this technology. Over the years, Systech continued to add and manage co-processing operations at multiple locations across the United States.
Systech eventually became a wholly owned subsidiary of Lafarge North America Inc., one of the largest producers of portland cement in North America.
Today, Systech, and its sister company Geocycle, are both affiliates of LafargeHolcim, a world leader in the building materials industry. LafargeHolcim was created from the merger of Lafarge and Holcim in 2015, bringing together more than 180 years of combined experience. Together, Systech and Geocycle continue the legacy of co-processing by-products and waste materials at 22 cement kilns across North America.
